Ok, I tried it... And it is killer! It will teach you how guitars work... Even if you play at a level where you know a bunch of chords and can play in a band, this will up your technical knowledge of how these chords are built... Nice job man! This is great for people like me who learn visually, and really opens your perspective on changing the feel of tones to better express yourself with playing... Ild say anyone who knows a few chords already, this kicks open the door and makes all the songs you make sacrifices on by substituting chords that sound "close enough" easier to nail down with the appropriate feel... I really like this a lot...

This is a terrific app if you have proper expectations. While it is simply impossible to "learn all chords in one hour" (jazz and classical greats spend DECADES trying to do that), it IS possible to learn HOW the basic chords are constructed. This app combines a small amount of music theory with the layout of the frets. Starting with a basic chord shape, D for example, you learn why it is a D based on the Root, 3rd, and 5th. Then you learn what adjustments are needed to turn it into other chords (7th, 9, sus, Maj7, etc). This same process continues for the other basic chord shapes. I will add that while the app uses the basic shapes of D, A, C, E, and G, it does not have anything to do with the "CAGED" system, nor does it even mention that. I would classify this app as a music theory app with three differences/improvements: it is specific to the guitar, it is PRACTICAL, and you wont get all the theoretical stuff (circle of fifths, etc).

Good luck with whatever this is. Maybe you guys should put some more money towards development of the app and a little less to your sponsorship. Text only, come on!

Dont buy this app its a piece of crap, you spend 1.99 for nothing because you have to keep buying upgrades or extra items such as different tunings. If I could get a refund I would, worthless, you can get better lessons on YouTube for free. Summarize in one word "Ripoff".

Tells me that my device sound is down, when its all the way up and all other apps work with sound. Any fix?

This is by far one of the best tutorial systems I have ever tried. I have learned more about chord structure and fingerlings in one hour than I have in years. At The offered price of $6.99 you just cant lose with this app. I give it 5 stars and highly recommend it.

This is a very good educational guitar app that helps clear up some of the mystery of chord formation on guitar. Certainly will help me to learn chord progressions. Clear, concise and easy to grasp. Thanks to the developer for this great app!

This app does what it promises, checkout the Guitar mag reviews. I was skeptical after all the Learn instantly sites, but this app delivers. It bridged the big gap between theory and the guitar neck. I can now play chords all over the neck and know how to build them. Ive been playing guitar for a long time, this app has opened up new territory. In my humble opinion it is amazing and the app support is awesome.

This app is not producing any sound when I strum or tap on the pick.

Always was interested in knowing chords constructions. This is a fine interactive way to learn this on a fretboard. Very fast way to learn. Thank you!

Its a very nice program. I learned some things. (And Ive got a lot to learn.) Youll still need to think and use your brain. But its a slick interface that is a little more fun than looking at a book. And its a nice progression between chord patterns. With more time invested in it, Ill definitely learn even more. My playing will then benefit, to be sure.

Its a bit finicky (iPhone 5S) and a lot of info at first, but it starts to come together quickly. Worth the money!

A great tool for learning music theory, chord building and developing your ear to recognize chords. I wish this was around when I was a kid and trying to learn how to play. 5 stars.

This app is well worth the 5 bucks; it explains how to build any chord you want anywhere on the neck, and the explanation is clear and facilitates quick learning. Learned a lot from just the opening tutorial.

Awesome app and teaching method! Immediately cleared some fog on terminology. Im a long time player with a strong ear but never really tried to understand chord theory. Lately been finding younger musicians knowing way more than me and I dont like that. I think this app will get me pretty far down the road and the visual nature of this method seems to fit my brain very well. Thanks for a great product!
